(No, I'm not talking about Barack Obama this time...)

Actually, I am super excited about a brand spankin new blog that I'm working on. (More or less mulling over ideas than really doing any tangible 'work' at this point but, ya know, whatev!) I am working with this fabulous and talented lady on said new blogging endeavor, and I absolutely cannot wait to get it started!

You may be asking, "Why, Kim? Why not just keep your thoughts right here?" (Or maybe not, and that's okay too because I'm going to tell you why anyways!) I really want to specify my subject matter a bit more, or at least give it some sort of cohesion. Also, my OCD is prohibiting me from launching a stylish new blog without also starting fresh with the content.

I'll be getting a fancy new custom domain, but don't fret, I'll link everyone over when I do make the jump! "No reader left behind", that is my motto. Until then, I have that pesky senior thesis, my French lessons to finish, an adorable pup, a trip up North, and an exciting new single life to tend to! I promise to come around and share some things, but my posting will probably drop off considerably from my current state of multiple-postings-per-day while I tend to the aforementioned activities.

I'm. so. excited. :)

A Call for Help:

I am sick of this. Can someone please tell me why my pictures aren't resizing and centering automatically anymore?! Someone!? Please!? I am getting really frustrated...

Virtually Exposed:

I stumbled upon something rather interesting out in the blogging universe this Tuesday morning: a guy named Chuck Westbrook is trying to promote a few diamonds in the rough... those great blogs out there that are mysteriously seldom read! Here is the link to his original post.

I say "mysteriously", but I totally know why many blogs (I'm not going to include myself in this, however, because I often wonder how interesting my own content is to strangers...) go unnoticed... There just aren't enough hours in the day to follow too many blogs! The only reason I can read and write myself is because I have a job that includes a lot of down time... I know that many people don't have this luxury, so it's understandably difficult to be a loyal reader at times.

Anyways, here's hoping that Chuck takes pity on my humble little blog... if not, no harm, no foul! (Honestly, that's just a little less pressure for yours truly! ;) )

As For Me, It's Nothing New, Just Another Two Years*:

I mentioned a while ago that after two long years, I'd finally be eligible for a phone upgrade come September. Well... it's September! And lookie what I got:

Yeah, it's no iPhone or Balckberry, but for just a plain 'ole phone, it's pretty sweet.

Honestly, I have an iPod... I have a camera... I have a MacBook... why do I need something else that does the same functions I currently have access to? Sure, they're convenient, but I like a no-bells-and-whistles-phone that I can, ya know, call people with. Plus, I'm really diggin the color (I couldn't get something plain Jane after having my "grape" beauty for two years, now could I?!).

I have no respect for people who take the elevator up one floor. None. Whatsoever.

Living in a high-rise dorm my freshman year, nothing got under my skin more than someone who would press the "2" or even "3" button when I was trying to get up to the 8th floor. C'mon. Really? Stop being lazy and walk your @$$ up a flight of stairs. We are young and able-bodied. So do it. Thanks!

A Case of the "Knocked Up"s:

No, not the part when Katherine Heigl gets, ya know, knocked up. Remember Seth Rogen and all of his buddy's great plan to launch a website that would tell you when your favorite celebrity was nude in movies? And come to find out, there is already a website of the same premise? Yeah, I had one of those moments today.

I thought, "How great would it be to have a website where you could 'bookmark' items all over the internet and it would notify you if/when said item went on sale?!" Yeah... There is already a site that does just that. And I found it approximately an hour after my genius idea (totally unintentionally... it never crossed my mind that someone might have already thought of that one).

My loss is your gain though. I thought I should share the site since it is totally a great idea. I give you: Shop Style. Not very user friendly since it's a little difficult to navigate, and it fails to offer the option of selecting your size (which my site totally would have done), but it's useful nonetheless.

Gadgets Needed, Apply Within:

Since my precious pup, Lily, opted to partially destroy the camera that my father randomly gave me last year, the idea of purchasing a fancy new camera has been on the brain. Okay, that's a total lie. I have been dreaming of taking fabulous photographs for a long while now. After a little research, this has been that dream camera as far as I am concerned:


A Nikon D40. What a wonderful piece of machinery it is. With a price tag of about $500 though, I just don't know if my bank account (or lack thereof) could handle such a fatal blow.

I bought this vintage goodie from eBay a few weeks ago thinking that it would satisfy my craving for cool photographs, but it has accomplished no such thing. Plus, Lily is terrified of it. Well, at least she won't chew the lens off of it? One can hope.


Also, after almost two years with my plum-colored phone, I am about ready for an upgrade. The thing works fine still and has done awesome with avoiding bumps and scratches... but two years is a long time. Unfortunately, I still have to wait another 32 days before I am eligible for an upgrade. This hasn't stopped my wandering mouse from going to the T-mobile website in search of the cutest option, however. Ya know, so I'll be prepared when that glorious day does arrive. Up until yesterday I have been largely disappointed with their selection, then I stumbled upon this beauty:


A Nokia 6301. So much better than any of the other "options" from T-mobile. So sleek. So sophisticated. Since it is still very new, the price is $80 even with the two-year contract renewal. Maybe it will come down a tad bit by the time I am able to actually purchase it? There I go hoping again. But unlike the Nikon, this will be mine sooner rather than later. Muhahaha!
